Cowbridge Farmers Market
Head to Cowbridge Farmers Market on Saturday 31st to shop with local farmers and producers and meet the people behind the food you eat; from meat, poultry, game, fish, eggs, and bread, to preserves, fruit and veg, pies, cakes, microgreens, mushrooms, granola, puddings, cider, beer, and non alcoholic drinks!

Garlic Meadow – Mini Farmer’s Market
Garlic Meadow and Glamorgan Smallholders have teamed up with other small scale local producers to give you a farmers market style event where you can meet, try and buy from a wide variety of local farms and food producers. There's no need to book a ticket - just turn up!

Hensol Castle Distillery – Gin tour and tasting
Join Hensol Castle Distillery for a tour and tasting! Hensol gin distillery is based in the cellars of a 17th century castle - something that every gin lover needs to experience! During your visited you'll be treated to a story-filled guided journey of the distillery learning all about the History of Hensol Castle, the History of Gin and the wonders of botanicals. You'll also be part of a gin tasting session before heading up to the bar for a Gin and Tonic at the end (or a takeaway one if you're driving).'

Vale Food Trail – @ Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival – A variety of stalls, activities and workshops free for all the family
The Vale Food Trail will once again be kicking off at the Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival 25th-26th May Bank Holiday Weekend. Come and visit the Vale Food Trail tent in Old Hall Gardens, near the Cowbridge Physic Gardens, where they will be joined by a range of fantastic local partners offering a variety of stalls, activities and workshops free for all the family to learn about food that is good for people, place and planet.

Ediculture – Open Gardens
Join the Ediculture team for an 'open garden' at Coed Hills. The event will include a tour of the forest garden, orchard and micro-market garden and a chance to find out more about the wildlife-friendly, agroecological approach to food growing.

Join Pugh's Garden Centre for a free Children's 'Grow Your Own' Demo – a family-friendly day of inspiring outdoor demos that teach children how to grow their own fruit and veg. Led by team member Chrissie, these fun and educational sessions take place at 10am, 12pm and 2pm on Monday 26th May. Book your ticket.

Amelia Trust Farm - A friendship adventure together
Join Amelia Trust Farm for their Friendship week! Come along with all your friends and family to see the animals, play in the park, and explore the woodland. With painting, tractor rides (weather depending), a colouring station, lawn games, and a seasonal trail around the farm, this is a lovely activity for the whole family!

Llantwit Climate Conversations – An evening to inspire and engage
Join Food Vale and Llantwit Climate Conversations for an evening to inspire and engage with others developing sustainable, local food for all. Food Vale will invite participants to write ‘postcards from the future’ to imagine the food system they want to live in, and then Llantwit Climate Conversations will share their mapping of local food provision and invite discussion and input from everyone. Speakers from initiatives that are further down the road to food sustainability will later share their insights with the room, and finally an update on some exciting areas of work from the wider Vale will be given. Refreshments will be provided. Free to join - simply register your spot.

Peterson Tea – Plantation tour & tasting
Escape for a couple of hours and immerse yourself in the world of artisan tea. Enjoy a guided walk around Peterston's tea garden where you will learn about the process of tea making from bush to cup, and gain an insight into how they are growing tea here in Wales. There will be opportunities to ask any questions and finish with a Welsh tea tasting and homemade cakes. The walk is on relatively good terrain so would suit any mobility levels although sensible footwear is advised!

Coed Organic – Farm tour & Discussion with refreshments
As an organic market garden operating in the Vale, Coed Organic are excited to open the farm gate for a tour and talk about what they grow, their growing methods and the role of organic horticultural production in sustainable local food systems. Refreshments will be on offer, along with opportunities to sample some of the vegetables grown by the Coed Organic team.

Forage – Jazz on the lawn
Join Forage Farm Shop for jazz on the lawn and soak up the sun whilst listening to live Jazz music by The Cowbridge Youth Jazz Band. Tuck into Forage's Garden Menu which includes Pizzas, burgers and loaded fries featuring produce from the Penllyn Estate.

Tair Gafr Wines – Vineyard tour and wine tasting
Tair Gafr Wines invite you to join them for a vineyard tour and tasting. The event will start with a tour of the vineyard where visitors will learn about viticulture on an organic vineyard. As part of the tour, visitors will also get to meet a myriad of animals from alpaca to mini sheep! The event will culminate with a tasting of Tair Gafr's selection of natural wines. If the tour & tasting sells our - fret not! Tair Gafr are also offering private tours and tastings throughout the trail.

Slade Farm Organics – Sunday is for strolling - a morning walk through Slade Farm 01/06/25
Rise and shine for a relaxed Sunday morning stroll across Slade Farm. Whether you're young or young-at-heart, this two-hour journey will take you through the heart of an organic farm. Explore the flourishing vegetable patch, say hello to the friendly (and very portly) pigs, and catch a glimpse of some gentle, shambling sheep. Wander the fields and wooded corners of the farm, seeking out rare arable plants, marvel at the chorus of birdsong, and check in on the crops as they grow. Grab your sensible shoes, bring your sense of adventure, and enjoy a Sunday stroll like no other!

Pugh's Garden Village – Demos, food tastings & special menus TBD
Throughout the Vale Food Trail, visit Pugh's Garden Village for food tastings in the food hall featuring suppliers based in the Vale - whilst Welsh specials in the Orange Tree restaurant will focus on the best of Welsh food and drink. Pugh's in-house chefs will be whipping up tradiional cawl, Vale burgers and homemade cakes using local ingredients to celebrate the range of locally sourced produce available.

Llantrithyd Park – Guided deer walk (Copy)
Bring your own picnic for this two hour guided walk through the Park to see the three herds of deer who live behind the ancient walls of Llantrithyd Deer Park. As a private estate not generally open to the public, Maria, the Deer Park owner, will guide you through this magical estate and answer your questions. The walk will be approximately 2km and will vary depending on where the deer are. As it is calving season you may be lucky enough to see some calves. The park is hilly in places so not suitable for very young children or wheelchair uses. After the tour you will be able to visit the Park Shop to purchase antler, eggs, dog chews, park photography and sustainable firewood, or put in your pre-order for the next season’s venison. Including a chance to picnic overlooking the park. Wellies or good walking boots and a water bottle are required!

St Hilary – Vineyard Tour and optional wine tasting 01/06/25 – 03/06/25
Explore St Hilary Vineyard and take a tour the wildflower meadow, vineyard and orchard - learning about regenerative viticulture (vine growing) and looking out for wildlife around the site. Enjoy an optional tasting of wines from St Hilary Vineyard and other vineyards located in the Vale of Glamorgan. St Hilary Apple Juice will also be available to sample.

Grounds For Good, Dirwest and Peterson Tea – No and low alcohol drinks producers
Come and meet three local entrepreneurs who each have low and no-alcohol drinks offerings; Lucy from Peterston Tea - the first tea farm in Wales; Rosie from Grounds For Good - who makes a range of wonderful products with upcycled coffee grounds; and Nia from Dirwest - brand new non-alcoholic company offering an IPA beer, and a gin-style Botanical Spirit. Learn all about their businesses with plenty of samples, and finish the session with a mocktail of your choice.

Farmers Pantry Butchers – Farm to Fork at Rosedew Farm
Head to Rosedew Farm for an opportunity to meet Rhodri Davies, who has been farming the land on Rosedew Farm in Llantwit Major for over 30 years. Rhodri expertly raises cattle and sheep while cultivating a variety of arable crops amongst other endeavours. In 2011, he and wife Gaynor also founded Farmers Pantry Butchers to bring high-quality, farm-reared produce directly to the local community.
During a 'Steak Showdown' at the farm you'll meet Dawie Beyers, Operations Manager at Farmers Pantry Butchers who will introduce a variety of steak cuts, discussing their unique characteristics and the best ways to cook them. Watch as he expertly prepares each cut and enjoy a tasting session of these delicious steaks.
Afterwards, relax with a hot drink and delicious cake at the on-site Acorn Café, the perfect way to round off your farm-to-fork experience (included in your ticket price).
